The CBSE Central Board of Secondary Education has announced in the latest conference that the board exams for 2025 will be conducted under strict surveillance and has mandated installing CCTV systems in all the affiliated schools for the CBSE 10th and 12th exams 2025. CCTV cameras are needed to monitor all areas of the exam halls without any blind spots, including the main entrances or the exits of the door. The board higher authorities Clearly said That only designated examination officials and security personnel may have the authority to access the live Recordings. For every 10 rooms, an invigilator will be assigned to monitor the footage and for reporting any incident if occurs.

Why CCTV Surveillance? 

Recently concerns links to cheating, leakages of papers Board exams has been under controversy concerning its reliability. To deal with these problems, CBSE has set up better monitoring System for the 2025 board examinations. They will install CCTV in all the examination halls to prevent any form of cheating and to ensure that students exercise compliance to the norms. 

The videos or photos from these cameras can be used if there are any issues or strange activities reported during or after the exams.

4. Increased Accountability: That means not only students will be in the spotlight, but invigilators and exam staff too will be observed. If they do something wrong or carelessly negligent then the authorities may take severe action against them.

It is advisable to use CCTV surveillance but there are pros and cons of it as shown below. The use of cameras in thousands of exam centers is not easily organized. Some of the things that must be ensured include checking that each of the centers has functional cameras, employees who have to monitor those cameras, and a proper source of electric power to support the cameras. Here are some of the main problems to cut down – those are some of the main problems to solve. 

Students and staff may have some privacy issues because when they are constantly monitored they may feel uncomfortable. Nevertheless there is much in all these actions aimed directly at safeguarding the process of examination than on gross intrusion into the privacy of an individual.
