UPSC Indian Administrative Services Exam 2018 is scheduled to be held in June 2018 for which, candidates need to register online from February month. All the aspirants must be wondering for numbers of papers held in IAS Civil Service Exam 2018. As per latest syllabus, we have jotted down the list of papers in IAS Exam which is as follows:

IAS Prelims Exam 2018

As per syllabus and pattern issued by UPSC, the preliminary exam has two papers which are of objective type questions.

  1. General Studies Paper 1 which includes questions from Polity, History, and Economics

  2. General Studies Paper 2 will comprise the objective type questions from English Comprehension, Mental Ability, etc. This paper is also known as Civil Services Aptitude Test or CSAT.

 

IAS Mains Exam 2018

UPSC will conduct IAS Mains Exam for the candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam. The mains exam will be subjective in nature and based on the latest exam scheme released by UPSC. According to the revised syllabus, UPSC IAS Mains Exam will have 9 papers out of which, 7 will be considered for final merit but 2 papers will be of qualifying in nature.

  • 4 papers will be from General Studies

  • 1 papers will be based on essay

  • 2 papers on one Optional subject

  • 1 Regional Language Paper (Comprehension, Precis Writing, Translation etc)

  • 1 English Language Paper (Comprehension, Precis Writing etc).
