Students can follow the given tips to prepare well and do awar with their fear of Mathematics.

1. Know the Syllabus and Pattern Well

Students should ensure that before they start their preparation they are completely aware of the syllabus of the exam and the unit-wise weightage of the topics. In view of the pandemic, CBSE has reduced the syllabus for CBSE Board Classes. You should know the new syllabus in detail and cover only those topics which are mentioned in the syllabus. Along with that, you should also be aware of the unit-wise weightage of each topic and understand the pattern well.

2. Make A Detailed Study Plan

Having understood the syllabus and pattern, you should make a detailed study plan for yourself. Try to allocate more time to those topics that have higher weightage in the exam. Along with this, students should also assess the topics they find difficult and segregate the topics according to the level of difficulty. Having done this, give more time to topics you find difficult. Make your study plan in a way to cover all the topics well before the exam.


 

3. Refer to the NCERTs

There are various books available in the market for CBSE Class 10 Mathematics. While you caan surely refer to them for practicing questions, ensure that you do stick to the NCERTs for clearing your concepts and understanding the basics. Refer to other books only after you have completed the NCERTs thoroughly. Often many questions in the exam are asked directly from the NCERTs. Thus these books are extremely important and they cannot be ignored.

4. Solve Previous Year Papers

Previous year papers are extremely important while preparing for CBSE Class 10 Board Exams. Students should keep refering to them and solve them thoroughly before the exam. Students should check if they are able to solve the questions or not. This will also help students understand the trend in questions in the exam.

5. Practice Questions

Mathematics is a subject which requires a lot of practice. You should ensure that after having understood a topic you practice a lot of questions related to that topic. This will boost your confidence and give you the required proficiency in the subject.

6. Do Not Make Silly Mistakes

You should solve questions and attempt the paper with a calm and focussed mind. Often it happens that students make very silly mistakes in Mathematics and loose a lot of marks. Practice well and try not to commit silly mistakes.

7. Practice Sample Papers and Evaluate Yourself

Students should also practice as many sample papers as possible and evaluate their progress. Maintain a record of the trend in your scores when you attempt sample papers. Solve the sample papers as if you are attempting the real exam paper. 

8. Learn All The Theorems and Formulaes

Students should ensure that they know all the theorems and formulaes. Make a separate notebooks of theorems and formulaes and learn them well. Try to revise them everyday so that you remember them well.

9. Attempt The Paper Neatly and Focus on Steps

It has been observed that in Board Examinations your presentation matters a lot. So you should attempt the paper neatly and have a good presentation. In maths, it is also important to focus on each step of the problem and show them since at times, the marking is step-wise. You can loose marks if you do not show any step. Thus focus on showing each step of the problem and doing the paper neatly.
