Important Points	Candidates must hold the required educational qualifications as of the application deadline.  No candidate for the service will be recruited unless they meet the physical minimum requirements for height and chest girth.

CISF Constable Educational Qualification

Matriculation (Class 10th pass) or its equivalent from a recognised board for skilled trades is required (i.e. Barber, Mason, Cook, Carpenter, Boot Maker, Electrician, Mali, Painter, Plumber and Washer Man). Personnel trained at the Industrial Training Institute will be given special consideration. For unskilled trades (i.e. Sweeper) candidates must have a Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognised board .

CISF Constable : Physical Standards

For General, SC, EWS and OBC candidates	170 Cms	Minimum 80 Cms with a minimum expansion of 05 Cms I .e.80-85Cms
The relaxed standard for the candidates falling in the category of :
Garhwalis, Kumaonese, Gorkhas, Dogras, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Marathas, or inhabitants of Sikkim Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir subject to production of the certificate as per Annexure –“VI”. The above standards mentioned [Para 4 c (ii)(a)] will be applicable for all categories (i.e.general, EWS, OBC & SC).	165 Cms	Minimum 78 Cms with a minimum expansion of 05 Cms I .e.78-83 Cms
All candidates belonging to ST or Scheduled Tribes	162.5 Cms	Minimum 76 Cms with a minimum expansion of 05 Cms i.e. 76-81Cms

Important. : Candidates who are ex-servicemen are eligible for a complete reduction of physical requirements.

CISF Constable Eligibility Criteria: For Ex-Servicemen

1. Ex-servicemen with the rank of Lance Naik or Sepoy in the Army, or comparable status in the Air Force or Navy, may apply for the position of Constable/Tradesmen. 
2. Ex-soldiers with the rank of Nayab-Subedar, Havildar, Subedar, Naik, or comparable rank in the Army, Navy, or Air Force are also eligible to apply.
3. Break-in Service: Ex-servicemen must have served in the Army, Navy, or Air Force for no more than three years as of the closing date for receiving applications from applicants, including candidates from the North East Region. 
4. On production of caste certificates in the prescribed format, SC/ST applicants must be 05 years old and OBC candidates must be 03 years old. The deadline for calculating the age restriction for candidates, including those from the North East Region, is fast approaching. 
5. Candidates must have completed Matriculation or the equivalent, or Army 1st Class or the equivalent in the Air Force or Navy
