What Is SSC CPO?

The full form of CPO is the Central Police Organization. The exam is held by the Staff Services Commission. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975, it is mandated to select staff for various Group B and Group C posts that come under various ministries in the Government of India. SSC also recruits for non-ministerial posts. Each year SSC conducts pan India exams like SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC JE, SSC GD, SSC CPO, SSC MTS, and SSC Stenographer exams. SSC CPO is a sought-after examination to recruit candidates for paramilitary and police forces under the Central Government. Candidates must note that the recruitment pertains to the Group C and D posts in various ministries. Candidates looking for Grade A posts must apply for the UPSC Capf Examination. Candidates appearing for the SSC Combined Police Organization (CPO) Exam should be aware of the latest SSC CPO Eligibility and other details. The Eligibility for the SSC CPO exam is as follows:-

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

This is a four-stage exam, which comprises written, physical, and medical. Briefs of the exam are given below.
  1. Stage 1- Paper I
  2. Stage 2- Physical Endurance Test/Physical Standard Test
  3. Stage 3- Paper-II
  4. Stage 4-Medical Examination
  5.  The time allotted for both papers is 2 hours.
  6. Paper 1 is objective type and paper 2 is a written subjective type of exam.
  7. There is negative marking and 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.

SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test

Candidates are given certain tasks under the Physical Endurance Test and they have to complete those tasks within the given time limit. The details of the Physical Endurance Test are as follows:

Male Candidates

  • 100-meter race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 Km Race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 meters in 5 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 meters in 3 chances
  • Short put 16 LBS: 4.5 meters in 3 chances

Female Candidates:
  • 100-meter race in 18 second
  • 800-meter race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 meters or 9 feet in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 0.9 meters or 3 feet in 3 chances
