Let’s discuss briefly the campaign:
What is the idea behind this campaign?
The “Jal Shakti Campaign” is the campaign which is run by the Jal shakti Ministry’s flagship to conserve water in the country. To make people aware of water conservation, the ministry has taken an initiative to be conducted across 734 districts of the country which covers almost 6,00,000 villages.
The duration of the campaign is set to be between March 22nd till November 30th, 2021; covering the monsoon period in the country.

Know how Jal Shakti Campaign would help in the prevention of groundwater extraction?
As groundwater recharge is a very time-consuming process, the campaign would help the needy to conserve and preserve the water and make use of it when in need without extracting the groundwater.
People are increasingly depending upon the consumption of groundwater as surface water bodies produce contaminated water due to the release of bad water waste discharge which makes the water unfit for use.

Role of Educational Institutions in Jal Shakti Campaign
- Awareness regarding the conduct of the campaign is done by the Gram Jal Shakti Team to involve more people in the campaign.
- Making water recycling spots in the educational institutions to preserve water for usage through recycled water.
- Adoption of Geo-Tagging of the water in the institutions to avoid any kind of issues related to water stagnation.
