IBPS Clerk Exam Preparation 2023: Overview

The IBPS Clerk exam 2023 overview is required to get a wholesome knowledge of all the relevant information. The exam will be conducted in two phases:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam
The prelims consist of three sections :

IBPS Clerk Preparation Tips for Prelims


1. Start Your Preparation Early And Focus On The Basics First 

The first step is to Start Early. This way the aspirant will have sufficient time for preparation as well as revision of the syllabus. Starting early means you get to study the entire syllabus in-depth , revise it and then finally practice it through mock tests. The candidates are required to go through and comprehend the syllabus and exam pattern so that they can sketch out their preparation plan according to that . It’ll also help you to focus on the important areas and keep yourself in check .

2. Focus On  Effective Management Of Time to Avoid Missing Out 

Don't spend too much time on a particular section.  This section requires the most amount of time in the exam . Candidates who are a bit slow with calculation techniques are advised to attempt this at the end to avoid the incompletion of the paper.  Practice is the key .

You need to make a habit practising Previous Year Papers and Mock Tests every day to improve speed and accuracy. Questions from previous year papers are often repeated and Solve it'll also give you a gist of the examination pattern and the type of questions asked . You should be also careful in the selection of study materials required for the examination .

6.Be confident in yourself .

Apart from all of these strategies the most important tip is to not panic and be confident in yourself and the hard work that you’ve done . IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern: Preliminary Examination

  • The exam will be held online with multiple choice questions of a total of 100 questions, 35 questions will be Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability each and 30 questions will be from the English section. 

  • The exam will have sectional timing where 20 minutes will be allotted for each section. 

  • Each correct answer will fetch a candidate with 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
