Dates That Matter in October 2022

International Day of the Elderly is observed on October 1.

Every year, on October 1st, "International Day of the Elderly" is commemorated to promote awareness of the issues that older people confront. In order to make it simple for the older generation to access information in the digital age, this year's International Day of the Elderly theme is "Digital Equity for all Ages." The UN General Assembly approved this resolution on December 14, 1990, and as a result, October 1st, 2021 is now recognised as "International Day of the Elderly Persons."

International Day of Nonviolence is observed on October 2.

Every year on October 2, people all across the world observe the International Day of Nonviolence. The International Day of Nonviolence is observed to mark the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth. Gandhi was the father of India and the driving force behind the Indian Independence struggle. During the struggle to liberate India from British savagery, he had a great belief in nonviolence.

Gandhi Jayanti is on October 2nd. 

Every year on October 2nd, Gandhi Jayanti is observed to commemorate the anniversary of Gandhi's birth. He was born in Porbandar, Gujarat, on October 2nd, 1869. Both our lives and the lives of well-known international leaders are inspired by him.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on October 2nd.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti Shastri, who was born on October 2nd, 1904, in Mughalsarai to parents Sharada Prasad Srivastava and Ramdulari Devi, shared his birthday with Mahatma Gandhi, who was born on October 2nd, 1869. Posthumously, he received the Bharat Ratna.

World Nature Day is on October 3rd.

Every year on October 8, India celebrates Air Force Day. The British monarchy established the Indian Air Force (IAF) as the Royal Indian Air Force on October 8, 1932. In 1950, the Royal Indian Air Force's name was changed to Indian Air Force. The Indian Air Force will mark its 89th birthday on October 8, 2021.

It's World Postal Day on October 9.

On October 9, every year, people all across the world observe World Post Day. Every year, this day is observed to increase public awareness of the importance of the postal service to both individuals and companies.

October 10th is National Postal Day.

India celebrates National Post Day on October 10 each year. This is a continuation of World Post Day. Every year, the Indian Postal Department celebrates National Post Day to honour its contributions to postal services. Several persons have been connected by the Indian Postal Department thanks to their postal services. October 16th is World Food Day.

The 16th of October is designated as World Food Day each year. "Our actions are our future- Better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life" is the theme of World Food Day in 2021. The purpose of the day is to increase public awareness of the need of a balanced diet for all people.

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is celebrated on October 17.

Every year on October 17, people throughout the world mark International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. The purpose of the holiday is to increase disadvantaged people's desire to use their skills and help end poverty. This may be accomplished by offering them access to healthcare, work possibilities, and financial independence training.

Day of the United Nations is October 24.

The 24th of October is designated as United Nations Day each year. The anniversary of the UN Charter's implementation in 1945 is commemorated on September 24 as International United Nations Day. Since 1948, people have been observing UN Day. The 77th anniversary of the United Nations and its founding Charter will occur in 2022.

World Development Information Day is on October 24.

Every year on October 24, the UN observes World Development Information Day. In order to raise awareness of developmental issues and the necessity of strengthening international collaboration to address them, the UN General Assembly established World Development Information Day in 1972.

October 30th is World Thrift Day.

Every year, World Thrift Day is observed on October 31 worldwide and on October 30 in India. The day seeks to raise awareness about saving money and a country's and an individual's financial stability.

Rastriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day is observed on October 31.

Since 2014, India has observed National Unity Day on October 31 each year. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, commonly known as the Iron Man of India, is remembered on this day. He had been crucial in bringing the nation together. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was crucial in bringing India together and making it EK BHARAT (Unity in Diversity).
