9 May – Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti
According to drikpanchang, the 25th of Boishakh presently coincides with either the 8th or 9th of May on the Gregorian calendar. It is observed on May 7 in other states according to the Gregorian calendar. He was born in Kolkata on May 7, 1861. He was a prominent Indian artist, novelist, author, Bengali poet, humanist, philosopher, and so on. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

11 May - National Technology Day

12 May - International Nurses Day

Gautama Buddha is said to have been born in Lumbini, near Kapilavastu, on the full moon of the month of Vaishakh. He is also referred to as the 'Jyoti Punj of Asia' or the 'Light of Asia.' Buddha Jayanti or Buddha Purnima is observed on May 16 this year.

17 May – World Telecommunication Day
Every year on May 17, the world celebrates World Telecommunications Day. It commemorates the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in Paris on May 17, 1865, which established the ITU. It is also known as International Society Day and World Telecommunications Day. It has been observed annually since 1969.
