Indian Navy has put forward a few basic criteria that each interested candidate should meet before applying for the post. The eligibility is based on the following parameters.- Nationality

Indian Navy Tradesman Eligibility: Nationality
- The candidate must hold an Indian Citizenship
- He / She can be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
- A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.
- A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
- Please Note: Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, and 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in their favor.

As per the official notification, an interested candidate must be in the age group of 18 to 25. Only then will he be eligible to apply for the post. Relaxation in age limit is as follows:

As per the official notification, these are essential qualifications that a candidate must possess. Candidate must have passed Class 10 th from a recognized board and must have also done ITI.
