The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level exam held once a year to determine candidates' eligibility to teach in Uttar Pradesh's primary (Classes 1-5) and upper primary (Classes 6-8) schools. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board is in charge of the examination (UPBEB). The UPTET exam is held in two shifts and consists of two papers: I and II. The UPTET Paper-I is for candidates who choose to teach in grades 1 through 5. UPTET Paper-II, on the other hand, is for candidates who choose to teach in grades 6 through 8. Candidates who choose to teach students in grades 1 through 8 must take both exams. Both UPTET papers are administered in offline mode as pen-and-paper tests on the same day.

Is there negative marking in UP TET ?

The question that this article will address is whether there is negative marking in   UP TET Exam or not . And the answer is NO.

The examination will be held in two stages - Tier I & Tier 2


Tier I is for candidates who wish to become teachers for classes 1-5 . The syllabus for Tier 1 is as follows :

Inclusive education guidance and counseling

Language-I (Hindi)-30 marks

Language comprehension
Works of poets and writers
Hindi alphabets (vowels, consonants)
Sentence formation
Spotting error/sentence correction
Idioms and phrases
Difference between all the sounds, varnas, anusvars, resonant and lunar points
Usage of punctuations
Noun, pronoun, verb and pronoun
Phrase, gender and time

Language-II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)-30 marks

Comprehension
Language skills
Pedagogy of language development
Parts of speech
Active and passive voice
Singular plural
Knowledge of the famous poetry of famous poets
Tenses - Present, Past, Future

Mathematics-30 marks

Number system
Shapes and geometry
Data handling
Measurements and units
Unitary rule
Percentage
Profit & loss
Simple & compound interest
Measurement
Area & volume

Environmental Studies-30 marks


Family and friends
Food and nutrition
Shelters
Water
Things we make and do
Plants and animals
Traffic and communication
Sports and sportsmanship
Constitution
Administration

Note : Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking. The total  duration for the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.

Note :Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking. The total time for the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
