Manager (Grade B Officer)
Grade B officers are recruited to the post of Managers. Depending on the performance, officers are promoted. Thus RBI Grade B officers have the opportunity to even rise upto the post of Deputy Governor.
RBI Grade B Officer Postings and Transfers
Once you get the call letter to join RBI as a Grade B Officer, either you are directly sent for training in the Reserve Bank Staff College, Chennai, or directly given your first posting in some RBI Office across the country. The first posting that officers get is Mumbai but this can vary depending on the requirements in different offices of RBI across the country. The first department that one is given the charge of is the “Issue & Banking Department”. Candidates should be prepared for posting and transfers to different locations across the country. There are four zonal offices of RBI at Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Chennai. RBI has nineteen regional offices at Thiruvananthapuram, Patna, Nagpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Kochi, Kolkata, Jammu, Kanpur, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Bangalore. Eleven sub-offices of RBI are at Agartala, Aizawl, Shillong, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Panaji, Srinagar, Raipur, Shimla, and Ranchi. Usually officers are transferred every 3 years.
