RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility criteria for RRB Group D Exam is explained under the following categories:
  • Nationality
  • Age Limit
  • Educational Qualification

The details regarding each of these parameters are as given below.

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

 A candidate must be either:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note- The candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. 
 

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Candidates should be between 18 to 33 years of age to be eligible for RRB Group D Exam. There is relaxation in upper age limit provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The details are as follows:

Candidates ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989

Candidates who are serving Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes and put in minimum 3 years of service (continuous or in broken spells).

Candidates who are working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes.

38 years of age plus length of service rendered or 5 years, whichever is lower.

Course Completed Act Apprentices applying for the posts for which minimum qualification is ITI/Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.

33 years of age plus the extent of Apprentice Training undergone by them under the Apprentice Act 1961 subject to a maximum of three years.

36 years of age plus the extent of Apprentice Training undergone by them under the Apprentice Act 1961 subject to maximum three years.

SC/ST

38 years of age plus the extent of Apprentice Training undergone by them under the Apprentice Act 1961 subject to maximum three years.

Candidates who have commenced Act Apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for RRB Group D Exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

No prior experience is required to be eligible for RRB Group D Exam.
