What Is SSC CGL Exam?
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975. It is mandated to select staff for various Group B and Group C posts that come under various ministries in the Government of India. SSC also recruits for non-ministerial posts. Each year SSC conducts pan India exams like SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC JE, SSC GD, SSC CPO, SSC MTS and SSC Stenographer exam. Each year lakhs of candidates appear for the above-mentioned exams in the hope to secure a government job. SSC CGL is a national-level exam conducted by SSC each year. Through this exam, candidates are recruited for Non-Gazettted Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. Each year around 15 lakh candidates appear for this exam. The candidates must have passed graduation in order to be eligible for this exam. SSC CGL exam pattern and syllabus has been revised. There will only be two stages in SSC CGL Exam now namely Tier 1 and Tier 2.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern: Tier I
Tier-I exam contains a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. Candidates need to complete the exam in online mode in 60 minutes (one hour).

Tier-II: SSC CGL Tier II exam will consist of three papers. Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
