SSC CGL Exam: The Staff Selection Commission had released the official notification for SSC CGL Exam 2023 on 3 April 2023. The last date to apply for the exam was 3rd May 2023. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam was conducted from 14th to 27th July 2023. Now that the result is awaited, SSC has released the exam dates for SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam. What Is SSC CGL Exam?

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975. It is mandated to select staff for various Group B and Group C posts that come under various ministries in the Government of India. SSC also recruits for non-ministerial posts. Each year SSC conducts pan India exams like SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC JE, SSC GD, SSC CPO, SSC MTS and SSC Stenographer exam. Each year lakhs of candidates appear for the above-mentioned exams in the hope to secure a government job. SSC CGL  is a national-level exam conducted by SSC each year. Through this exam, candidates are recruited for Non-Gazettted Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. Each year around 15 lakh candidates appear for this exam. The candidates must have passed graduation in order to be eligible for this exam. SSC CGL exam pattern and syllabus has been revised. There will only be two stages in SSC CGL Exam now namely Tier 1 and Tier 2.

The eligibility criteria for SSC CGL is mentioned in the official notification. Candidates must ensure they meet all the criteria before they apply for the exam. The SSC CGL Exam Eligibility criteria is as follows:

SSC CGL 2023 Application Form

The online application process for SSC CGL 2022 exam has started from 3 April 2023 and the last date to apply is 3 May 2023. Candidates can follow the below given steps to apply for SSC CGL Exam:

  • Visit the official website of Staff Selection Commission i.e., www.ssc.nic.in
  • Click on the link to ‘apply online’.
  • After entering the required information in the form, upload your latest scanned photograph with your signature.
  • After filling in all the details in the application form, pay the application fees and submit the form.
  • A printout of the filled-in SSC CGL application form must be kept for future reference.

SSC CGL 2023 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Exam Pattern: Tier I

Tier-I exam contains a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. Candidates need to complete the exam in online mode in 60 minutes (one hour).

SSC CGL Exam Pattern: Tier II

Tier-II: SSC CGL Tier II exam will consist of three papers.  Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
