SSC specifies the eligibility criteria for the SSC JE Exam in the official notification that it releases for recruitment. Candidates who apply for the SSC JE Exam should meet these eligibility criteria. If the candidates do not satisfy the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the official notification, their application will be rejected. SSC JE Eligibility: Nationality
As for Nationality, the eligibility for candidates is as mentioned below. To be eligible to appear for the exam, candidates must satisfy these nationality criteria and must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1st January 1962, to reside in India permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire, Zambia, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.

SSC JE Eligibility: Age Limit
There are various posts in the SSC JE Exam that the candidates can apply for and the age limit for each of these posts is different. However, candidates must be above 18 years of age and not more than 32 years of age to be eligible to appear for the SSC JE Exam.
