The UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) that was scheduled to be held from May 2nd to 17th has been postponed in view of the recent upsurge in Covid-19 cases all over the country, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Tuesday.
"Keeping in mind the safety and wellbeing of candidates and exam functionaries during Covid-19 outbreak, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the UGC-NET Dec 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams"Minister Nishank tweeted
The NTA was to conduct the next UGC-NET exam for Junior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor on May 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17.The selection of the candidates will completely based on their performance in Paper-I and Paper-II .

UGC NET 2021 Exam Pattern
UGC NET 2021 will be an online exam conducted in CBT mode. There are two papers in the exam. Paper I is the aptitude test while Paper II is the exam on the subject chosen by the candidate. The questions are objective in nature. The exam duration is three hours. For each correct answer 2 marks will be awarded and there is no negative marking.
