The written exam of NDA consists of two papers. There are a total of 270 questions- 120 for section A, which is mathematics, and 150 for section B, that is, the General Ability section. The boys and girls who are aspiring to appear for NDA (II) 2023 Exam must begin their preparation by understanding the NDA syllabus and preparing their plan accordingly. The detailed syllabus for each of these sections is as follows:
Questions in Paper 1 are asked from Mathematics. The level of questions is that of 10+2. A total of 120 questions are asked. Each question carries 2.5 marks and 0.83 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer. The detailed syllabus for NDA paper II is as follows:

- The question papers (Test booklets) of Mathematics and Part “B” of General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
- In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of weights and measures only will be set.
- Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
- The commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.
- The candidates are not permitted to use a calculator or mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective type papers (test booklets).
