Cricket World Cup Winners: History

 
In 1975 the first Cricket World Cup was claimed in England as a series of one-day 60 overs per team. Held outside England, in India, and Pakistan, for the first time in 1987. The 1987 competition also saw the number of overs per team drop to 50. In 2007 Australia became the first team to win three consecutive World Cups. And at present, so far Australia has won the World Cup 5 times in total, this is the record of winning the World Cup title for the most number of times by a team in the Cricket World Cup.

Cricket World Cup Winner: Present time winner

 
 The event is organized by the sport’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), every four years, with qualifying rounds leading up to a final tournament. The current format includes a qualifying round, which takes place over the previous three years, to determine which teams qualify for the tournament phase. In the Tournament Stage, 10 teams, including the automatically qualifying host country, compete for the title in venues in the host country for approximately one month. During the 2027 edition, the format will change to accommodate a final competition extended to 14 teams.
A total of twenty teams have participated in the eleven editions of the tournament, with ten teams competing in the recent 2019 tournament. England is the defending champions after winning the 2019 World Cup. The next tournament will be held in India in 2023 and the next The 2027 World Cup will be held jointly in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

The ICC Cricket World Cup trophy is awarded to the winners of the World Cup. The current trophy was created for the 1999 tournament and was the first permanent award in the tournament’s history. Previously, different trophies were created for each World Cup.[61] The trophy was designed and manufactured in London by a team of Garrard & Co craftsmen over two months.
Today’s trophy is silver and gold plated and features a gold ball supported by three silver pillars. The log-shaped pillars and balls represent the three basic aspects of cricket: batting, bowling, and pitch, while the globe is a cricket ball.[62] The seam is angled to symbolize the earth’s axial tilt. He is 60 cm tall and weighs about 11 kg. The names of previous winners are engraved on the bottom of the trophy, with space for a total of twenty inscriptions. The ICC keeps the original trophy. A copy that differs only in the entries will be awarded to the winning team.

Cricket World Cup Winner: ICC 20-20 World Cup

 
The first-ever T20 Cricket World Cup was held in India and India won the first-ever 20 overs World Cup in 2007. Below is the list of ICC World Cup winners and runners-up in T20. The ICC T20 World Cup was originally planned for 2020 but was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic situation. Also, due to bio bubble restrictions and COVID protocols, the tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates instead of India.
