2023 IIT Delhi Highlights
IIT Delhi was founded in 1961 as the College of Engineering in Delhi and later changed its name to "Indian Institute of Technology Delhi" after being designated as an "Institution of National Importance" (IIT Delhi). After then, it received the designation of Deemed University. According to the NIRF 2022 Rankings, IIT Delhi is placed 2 and 4 in the engineering and overall categories, respectively. In addition to these rankings, the institute received a 4 in the NIRF 2022's "Management" category. There are 19 Centres of Excellence at IITD, of which four were established by IIT Delhi, eight by businesses, and seven by sponsored projects. The institute currently provides over 85 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Six different schools and 16 departments within IITD are responsible for delivering these courses. With one extension campus already established in Sonepat and another one about to follow in Jhajjar, Haryana, IITD is expanding its reach.

About 100 courses with a range of specialisations are offered at IITD. These courses are available in full-time, full-time sponsored, and part-time formats at undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level programmes.
