A portal named "e-Samadhan," a new forum for settling student grievances, is being introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The programme, which would go live the following week, will allegedly provide online solutions to all of the student and and academic staff issues. UGC will introduce the "e-Samadhan" portal for the resolution of complaints.
Additionally, UGC has established precise deadlines for resolving the complaints. The time limit for student-related issues has been set at 10 working days. The problem must be resolved for both teaching-related and non-teaching-related issues within 15 days. A maximum of 20 days may be given for any university or college-related issue.Nearly 38 million pupils are expected to benefit from the e-Samadhan website. Public disclosure of the results of testing based on CUETs is still pending. In addition, the application procedure for India's engineering and medical programmes is still open. Despite this, students have been admitted to organisations not under the CUET's jurisdiction. They have the option to revoke their admissions after the results are released. For these students, the UGC has stipulated that if they withdraw their admission from any course/college/university by October 31, 2022, they will be given a full fee refund. Additionally, the university is required to return the students' original certificates. "Numerous mechanisms were provided by UGC. The absence of a single-window system led to the stakeholders filing several complaints/grievances at various places. Due to the redressal mechanism's slow development, which was also causing the stakeholders to face new problems, "M. Jagadesh Kumar, chairman of the UGC, said.
The portal will cover some of these grievences
- granting admission in a merit-free manner
- Inconsistency in the admissions process
- refusing entry in conformity with the stated admissions policy
- False or deceptive statements in the prospectus
- Refuse to surrender original diplomas, degrees, or certificates.
