How does E-Commerce work?

There are some Common Types of Ecommerce Business Models here:

B2B (Business to Business): The online sale of products or services between two businesses is called B2B business, you have an online portal for buying or selling any goods. There are two parties in this, and transaction and dealing take place between them whether it is about any products or services, the transaction is very easy in B2B Business.

B2C (Business to Consumer): An E-commerce store like Amazon, Flip Kart etc. selling their products online direct to the customer is called a B2C business. In other words in this business if we provide any product or service and it is being transferred from direct business to consumer, then it will be called B2C business.

B2G (Business to Government): B2G is a model in which a businessman sells his products or services to government entities or public administrations through an online portal whether it is at the local level, country, state or national level called B2G or business to government model.

C2B (Consumer to Business): in consumer to the business model you can sell any product and services to direct companies like referral programs, any data sharing work etc. Affiliate marketing services are also a good example of the customer-to-business (C2B) model.

D2C (Direct to Consumer): D2C is just like the B2C model but in the direct-to-consumer model selling a product directly to the consumer through the company’s web store. In the D2C model, there is no interference from any wholesaler or retailer or any other third party.

C2C (Consumer to Consumer): In the Consumer, to consumer model, anyone can sell their goods online to another consumer through online advertisement. eBay and Amazon Marketplace are very good examples of consumer-to-consumer business models.

What are the disadvantages of E-commerce or what are the limitations of E-commerce businesses?

E-commerce has some limitations and disadvantages, including:

  • Security Concerns: E-commerce transactions involve sensitive information such as credit card numbers and personal information, making them vulnerable to cyber-attacks and fraud. Therefore, cyber security is a must.
  • Technical Challenges: E-commerce businesses need to ensure that their websites are user-friendly, easy to navigate, and compatible with different devices and browsers.
  • Shipping and Delivery: Shipping physical products can be a challenge, especially for international orders, as it can result in longer delivery times and high shipping costs.
  • Limited Customer Interaction: Online shopping lacks the personal touch and face-to-face interaction that customers may get in a physical store, which can impact customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Competition: E-commerce businesses face intense competition, especially from larger and established players, making it difficult for new entrants to succeed.
  • Dependence on Technology: E-commerce businesses rely heavily on technology and the internet, which can result in technical problems that can disrupt operations and damage customer trust.
  • Costly Infrastructure: Setting up and maintaining an e-commerce business requires a significant investment in technology and infrastructure, which can be challenging for small businesses.
  • Regulations: E-commerce businesses must comply with various regulations and laws, including consumer protection, privacy, and data protection, which can be complex and difficult to navigate.
An e-commerce platform is a software solution that enables businesses to create and manage an online store to sell products and/or services directly to customers. Many businesses are coming onto the platforms online to sell their product than selling offline. Getting bigger by using this e-commerce platform and setting up new trending ways to increase your business is what this e-commerce platform gives you benefit.

Electronic banking: Many banks provide online facilities to their customers like mobile apps for electronic banking. Nowadays you can see that we are using Google pay, Phone Pay, Paytm etc. in day-to-day life.
