Combustion and flame
All of you must have seen things burning, some things burn fast, some things burn slowly like burning of candle and burning of coal but there is a difference in their burning process. You will be able to easily understand the entire chapter related to your lesson combustion and flame in this article. Which will make it easy to solve your question.Let us know what has been told in this lesson……

Combustion
Combustion is a chemical process in which a substance reacts rapidly with oxygen and emits heat. The starting substance is called fuel and the source of oxygen is called oxidant. The fuel can be solid, liquid or gaseous, although for airplane propulsion the fuel is usually liquid.
Flame – When a substance is burning, some flames come out of it,which we call flame.

How do we get the fire under control?
We know that oxygen is needed for fire to start. When there is a fire somewhere, we cut off the supply of oxygen from that substance and get control of the fire. For this we use carbon dioxide gas. Because carbon dioxide gas is heavier than oxygen, carbon dioxide forms a layer around the material, due to which the supply of oxygen is cut off and the substance stops burning.
Ignition temperature
The minimum temperature at which a particular substance starts burning is called its ignition temperature.
Combustible Substances
Substances whose ignition temperature is very low and they catch fire easily with flame, they are called combustible substances.
Type of combustion
Rapid Combustion
A substance that catches fire very quickly.
Combustion of that substance is called rapid combustion. Eg- LPG gas.
Combustion of that substance is called rapid combustion. Eg- LPG gas.
Self-combustion
There are some substances which start running after getting the slightest spark like phosphorus or when gas is burnt, it burns immediately with lighter. This process that goes on immediately is called self combination.
So ,the combustionin is which a substance burns without any heat, called self-combustion.
So ,the combustionin is which a substance burns without any heat, called self-combustion.
Starts
We call it spontaneous combustion.
Explosion
In this combustion a large amount of sound, heat and light is produced. The gas produced by the reaction is released in large quantities. We call this an explosion. Like burning of firecrackers during Diwali.
Fuel
Fuel is used for cooking, running vehicles and in other industries, fuel is used coal, petrol, diesel, kerosene, oil, etc.
We can define fuel as "A substance used for heating in domestic and industrial use. It’s called fuel."

Fuel Efficiency
Any fuel produces energy equal to its own volume. This ratio is called fuel efficiency.
How many kilojoules of heat is produced by one kilogram of fuel. We call it the fuel keeper.

Q1-what cause combustion?
Answer -Oxygen, fuel and heat are needed for fire to occur. This is known as the fire triangle. Combustion is when fuel reacts with oxygen to release heat energy. Combustion can be slow or fast depending on the amount of oxygen available.
Q2- which gas is using combustion?
Answer- During the combustion process, oxygen is utilized. As Oxygen is required for the combustion to occur.
Q3- what is the difference between fire and combination ?
Answer-the Combustion is a chemical process in which substance reacts with oxygen to give off heat. Fire is the visible effect of combustion. Light and heat are given off by oxidation of hydrogen and carbon.
Q4-Is fire a solid, liquid and gas?
Answer- Fire doesn't fall into gas, because it doesn't expand in the same way gas does. Fire doesn't fall into liquid, because it doesn't have a fixed volume. Fire doesn't fall into solid, because it doesn't have a fixed shape. Thus, fire is currently considered a plasma
Q5-Is ignition is gas?
Answer -Created when positive and negative charges in the atmosphere equalize, lightning is neither solid, liquid, nor gas; it's the fourth state of matter, known as plasma.
Q6-Is fire pure energy?
Answer- No, it is not considered pure energy, but a lot of energy is released in heat and light.
Q7-What is plasma fire?
Answer -A plasma fire was a type of fire that was fueled by warp plasma or another type of super-energized gas. Plasma fires could be caused by ruptures in a plasma conduit, the electro-plasma system, or some other high-energy power system.
Q8-how many types of combustion there?
Answer -Combustion can be divided into three types – rapid combustion, spontaneous combustion and explosion.
