Christmas is observed in all Christian countries, however the manner in which this date is observed varies.

The Origins of Christmas

The origins of Christmas can be traced back to 336 A.D. in Rome, where the first Christmas was celebrated. It was crucial during the famous Arian conflict, which occurred in the 300s. Epiphany overshadowed it in the early years of the Middle Ages. 
Christmas was reintroduced to the public eye approximately 800 A.D., when Emperor Charlemagne received the crown on Christmas Day. Christmas was prohibited by the Puritans in the 17th century because it was connected with drunkenness and other wrongdoing.It was made a proper holiday around 1660, but it was still quite unsavoury. The Oxford movement of the Anglican Communion church began in the early 1900s, which led to the resuscitation of Christmas.

Christmas preparations

Christmas is a cultural holiday that necessitates extensive planning. People have a Christmas break because it is a public holiday. 

Most people begin their Christmas preparations early, so that the celebrations begin on the eve of Christmas. There are numerous activities involved in Christmas preparations. People typically purchase decorations, food, and gifts for children in their families and friends. Some families go shopping for matching Christmas attire for their entire family. 

Common preparations include decorating the location with Christmas trees and lighting. Before starting on the decorations, the house must be well cleaned. The Christmas tree instils the holiday atmosphere in houses.

Wrapped gift boxes are placed under the Christmas tree and are not to be opened until Christmas day. The church has also been decorated for the occasion. To prepare for Christmas, churches are thoroughly cleaned. Christmas songs and skits will be performed. 

People normally spend a lot of money on Christmas, therefore saving money for these plans should be the first step. Families are also planning to travel to stay together throughout this festive season. Traditionally, turkey is a typical dinner around the world nowadays. Cards are often sent to friends and relatives to wish them a pleasant holiday and to express affection.

Christmas Day Festivities

To commemorate the occasion, Christmas carols are broadcast on radios and televisions. Most families begin by attending church, where plays and songs are performed. Later, they will gather with their family to exchange gifts and celebrate with food and music. Christmas happiness is unlike any other. 

Christmas snacks include homemade classic plum cakes, cupcakes, and muffins. Children are flooded with gifts and new outfits. They also get to see 'Santa Claus,' who greets them with hugs and gifts and is clothed in a fluffy red and white suit.
