In addition, negotiations with the varsity's admission committee and academic council will be held to finalize the UG course admission process.
DU UG Admissions 2021 on merit:
Due to the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 board exams due to the coronavirus epidemic, the university will admit students based on their merit.
Meanwhile, each year, the varsity's colleges set course cut-offs, and students who match the requirements apply to those schools.
Joshi is a member of the CUCET committee, which recently presented its findings to the Ministry of Education. According to PTI, a decision on holding a unified admission exam for all central universities is pending.
''The admissions will be merit-based. The various boards are going to give us some marks. Then there is the CUCET exam for which we had already sent a proposal. The ministry has to take a call on whether it has to implement it or not, and it will depend on the assessment of the COVID situation,'' he told PTI.
Will the CUCET be held at DU?
Furthermore, Joshi stated that there are two options: either the CUCET will be held or it will not.
"If it is held, we will consider it a success." We will use the board exam evaluation if CUCET does not occur this year, as it did last year. The various boards will almost certainly opt for a more established system of evaluation. According to PTI, he stated, "On the basis of those, we would prepare our merit list accordingly."
Because of the coronavirus crisis, the acting VC believes the prospects of CUCET happening this year are slim. "If all the boards cancel their exams, there's a good chance we'll be able to start registration by July 15," he added.
The DU UG admissions process was totally online in 2020.
