APSC AE Eligibility criteria
Candidates interested must make sure that before applying for the recruitment, they must meet the mentioned APSC AE Eligibility Criteria. Candidates who meet all the criteria can apply for the vacancies. The eligibility is decided in terms of 3 criteria namely Nationality, age, and education. Each of them has been discussed below.
APSC Assistant Engineer Age Limit
As per the guidelines of APSC the age limit can be defined as-
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 38 Years

APSC Assistant Engineer Education Qualification
The qualification requirements differ for both the departments and are as follows.
Educational Qualification for Irrigation Department, Assam
- The candidate must possess a B.E or equivalent degree in either Civil / Mechanical / Electrical field
OR
- The candidate must have cleared Part A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institute of Engineers (India) along with a valid certificate for this qualification.
Educational Qualification for Public Health Engineering Department , Assam
- The candidates must possess a degree in either Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical engineering field from an Indian or Foreign University recognized by the Government.
OR
- The candidates must have cleared the Part A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institute of Engineers (India) along with a valid certificate for this qualification.
- Apart from the above-mentioned qualification, he/she should be well-versed with at least 1 official language of the Assam i.e. Assamese/Bengali/Bodo.
Note* The commission will not accept Distance mode of education for these 269 APSC Assistant vacancies.
APSC Assistant Engineer Nationality
- Nationality is an important criterion to be considered for any examination.
- Many a time a candidate doesn't pay attention to this criterion and eventually, it leads to rejection of their application.
- For APSC Assistant Engineer the applicants must be an Indian National fulfilling all the other mentioned criteria.
APSC Assistant Engineer Number Of Attempts
- The total number of attempts regarding APSC Assistant Engineer examination is not completely defined in the official notification
- But the age limit is defined as the candidate must have a minimum age of 21 years and should not have their age more than 38 years
- So if a candidate starts to appear at the age of 21 he will have a total of 17 attempts.
