SBI PO Exam
This is a premier banking exam, one of the most sought after and preferred exams in the banking sector. Through this exam, candidates are recruited as Probationary Officers in managerial positions. Each year there are around 2000 vacancies for this exam. The exam pattern is as follows:
SBI PO Preliminary Exam: The exam is objective type.
The total duration of the exam is one hour.
The purpose of this exam is the screen candidates for mains.
Each year out of a lakhs of applicants around 8000 make it to the main exam.
SBI PO Mains exam: This exam has a mixed pattern i.e.
objective and subjective.
The questions are mainly in objective type, along with a section of essay writing.

SBI PO Personnel Interview: This is a combination of a Group Discussion and Interview round.

SBI SO Exam
This exam is conducted to recruit officers in specialist grades.
The exam is based on an interview round and previous work experience is a must for this exam.State Bank of India (SBI) has released an online notification for 19 vacancies of Vice President & Head, Senior Special Executive, Manager, and Senior Executive.
The last date of application submission is 4th May 2022 for a banking operational job.

SBI Clerk Exam
This exam is conducted to recruit candidates in Junior Associate capacity in clerical grade. This exam is conducted once a year. The popularity of this exam is huge. The exam pattern is similar to the SBI PO exam, but the difficulty level is less, there is no interview and descriptive round in this exam.
SBI Clerk Prelims: The paper is conducted in one hour, the questions are objective type and there is negative marking too.
This exam filters candidates for the mains exam.
SBI Clerk Mains: This exam is conducted for the final recruitment.
The exam continues to be objective type.

Upcoming Bank Exam IBPS
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is mandated to conduct a recruitment process for 11 other public sector banks and Regional Rural Bank. The exams conducted by IBPS have a good number of vacancies. Each year IBPS conducts the following examination:
IBPS PO Exam
This exam caters to managerial grades in various public sector banks.
Each year there are around 4000 vacancies for this exam.
For 2022 the official dates for the exam are 15, 16, 22 Oct 2022.
IBPS PO is officially referred to as IBPS CWE (Common Written Examination), the exam pattern is as follows:
IBPS PO Prelims: This is a qualifying exam of the mains.
The exam is conducted in one hour.
The paper consists of only objective type of questions.
The paper has a predetermined sectional cutoff.
IBPS PO Mains: This is the final recruitment exam.
The pattern for this exam is much like the prelims except for the written essay section.
Based on the performance in this round, the candidates are called for interview rounds by the participating banks.
IBPS PO Interview: The participating banks conduct interview round to determine the suitability of candidates as Probationary Officer.
Based on marks of Interview and Mains round the final cut-off is made.

IBPS SO Exam
This exam is conducted for the specialist officers.
Candidates who have prior experience working in the financial or banking sector are eligible for this exam.
The exam pattern is as follows:
IBPS SO Prelims- To filter our candidates for the mains exam.
The exam is conducted in online mode.
IBPS SO Mains- The main exam consists of one objective paper on professional knowledge for most specialists.

There are a few more exams that open doors to the banking sector. The exams are primarily for candidates who have prior experience and have certain specializations. The other major exams are:
- IPPB Exam: The Indian Post and Payment Bank is a relatively new only payment bank in Public Sector. The exam for this institution is largely limited to people with prior work experience in managerial posts. There are sporadic exams for general graduates too, but as of now there is no certainty related to such exams
- NABARD Exam: National Rural Agricultural Bank is a premier banking institution working in the agricultural sector.
