BSSC CGL Prelims Syllabus 2023 

According to the BSSC CGL syllabus, there will be questions from three subjects—general awareness, general science, mathematics and mental ability—in the prelims test. Whereas, the BSSC CGL syllabus for the Mains includes subjects in General Hindi, General Awareness, General Science, and Mathematics, Reasoning, and Mental Ability. BSSC CGL Exam Pattern 

The detailed exam pattern along with the marking scheme is as important as the syllabus for the exam. The Exam has four stages and a detailed exam pattern must be known to all the candidates. The BSSC CGL exam pattern for each stage is as follows:

BSSC CGL Prelims Exam Pattern 

  • The BSSC CGL Prelims is a qualifying exam with an objective format.
  • The BSSC CGL Prelims Exam lasts for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • Candidates who pass the BSSC CGL preliminary examination are eligible to take the BSSC CGL main examination.
  • There will be three sessions of 50 questions each in the preliminary exam.
  • For a total of 600 points, there will be 150 questions.
  • For each wrong response, one mark will be deducted from your final grade.

BSSC CGL Mains Exam Pattern 

 
  1. The exam is held in form of 2 papers.
  2. Each paper is for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  3. Paper 1 is a language paper (Hindi language) having 100 questions for a total of 400 marks.
  4. There are minimum qualifying marks of 30% in paper 1, Only those candidates who are able to secure 30 % marks will be considered for paper 2.
  5. There will be 3 sections in BSSC CGL Mains Paper-2 of the main exam. The pattern and syllabus for paper-2 are similar to that of the preliminary exam.
