Candidates should be
- Permanent citizens of India or subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01.01.1962, or
- A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.
ESIC IMO Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit
Candidates should not be more than 31 years of age to be eligible for ESIC IMO Exam.
There is relaxation in upper age limit provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

ESIC IMO Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidate should have MBBS degree included in the 1st or 2nd Schedule or Part-II of the 3rd Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
In case, the candidate is an MBBS degree holder from the 3rd schedule, then he/she must fulfil all the criteria mentioned in that particular act.
ESIC IMO Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts
There is no restriction on the number of attempts for ESIC IMO Exam.
Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
ESIC IMO Eligibility Criteria: Experience
Candidates should have completed a compulsory rotating internship post completion of their UG degree. Candidates who are currently pursuing the internship shall be eligible for final selection.
