The Selection Process for UP Police SI wil be as follows :
Online Written Examination
Documentation & Physical Standard Test (PST)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The online examination will comprise of 4 sections which are as follows :
General Hindi
Basic Law/ Constitution/
General Knowledge
Numerical & Mental Ability Test
Mental Aptitude Test/IQ Test/
Reasoning

Chart out the Syllabus and Prepare a Time Table :
The candidates are required to go through and comprehend the syllabus and exam pattern so that they can sketch out their preparation plan according to that .
Keep a check on the Current Affairs :
Develop a habit of reading the newspaper daily . It'll help you to get a hold on current affairs .Stay aware about the recent happenings in the country .Involve yourself in Quiz and practice sections for acing current affairs and GK .
Start Early:
The first step is to Start Early . This way the aspirant will have sufficient time for preparation as well as revision of the syllabus. Starting early means you get to study the entire syllabus in depth , revise it and then finally practice it through mock tests . If you keep off things until the very end you'll end up disappointed and stressed .So start early even if you take it slow .
