IBPS PO Prelims exam is conducted online and questions are asked from three subjects- English language, logical reasoning, and quantitative aptitude.
The questions are objective in nature.
A total of 100 questions are asked in this exam.
Each question carries one mark.
There is negative marking and 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
The duration of the exam is 1 hour.

Candidates who qualify for the prelims exam appear for IBPS PO Mains Exam.
This exam has questions that are objective in nature.
The objective questions are asked from sections such as Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General Awareness, Economy & Banking Awareness.
Candidates also have to answer descriptive questions in the English Language section where there have to write letters and an essay.
In the objective questions section, each question carries one mark.
There is negative marking and 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.

Candidates who clear the mains exam appear for the interview.
The date for the interview is released after the main exam is over.
The interview carries a total of 100 marks.
Candidates have to score at least 40% marks to qualify for the interview.
After the interview round, IBPS releases the merit list of the candidates.
