RBI Assistant Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 3 stages which are mentioned below-
  1. Preliminary exam,
  2. Mains Exam
  3. Language Proficiency Test.
The weightage of each exam is covered below:

The sections mentioned above are crucial for both prelims and mains examination. The mains has additional sections like  General Awareness and Computer Knowledge which a candidate must cover. The exam pattern for the various stages is as given below.

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern: Preliminary Examination

  1. The exam will be held in online mode.
  2.  The total number of questions is 100. 
  3. The questions are objective type.
  4. There are 3 sections in the exam
  5. The exam will have sectional timing where 20 minutes will be allotted for each section.
  6. Each correct answer will fetch a candidate with 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern: Mains Exam

  • A total of 190 questions will be asked in the mains examination with a maximum of 200 marks.

  • Questions from Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude will carry 1.20 marks.

  • The rest sections i.e. Numerical Ability, English Language, and General Awareness will carry 1 mark for each correct answer.

  • The candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking

  • The total time duration of the exam is  2 hours and 40 minutes.

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern: Language Proficiency Test

The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below. Candidates who are not proficient in the official/ Local Language will be disqualified.
