TNPSC Eligibility Criteria 2022
There are various exams conducted by TNPSC for Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4 posts. The detailed eligibility criteria for these different exams is as given below.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | The upper age limit is 32 years of age for all general candidates, and for those with a B.L., it is 33 years. There is a TNPSC age limit relaxation of 5 years for all candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), and other backward communities |
Educational Qualification | Candidate should be graduate-degree holder from any University recognized under the Central Act, the UGC Act, or a State Act |
TNPSC Group 2 Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | The minimum TNPSC exam age limit is 18 years to apply for the exams to all TNPSC Group 2 posts except that of the Sub-registrar Grade-II, the Probation officer in the Prison Department, and Probation Officer in the Social Defence department. Whereas, the maximum age limit is 30 years. For the exceptions mentioned above, the minimum age limit is 20, 22, and 26 years respectively, while the maximum age limit is 30. For candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and other Denotified Communities, there is no maximum age limit to apply. |
Educational Qualification | Candidate should have completed graduation from a recognised college or university. There are also certain additional post-speciific requirements of educational qualifications. |

TNPSC Group 3 Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | Candidates should be between 18 to 42 years of age to be eligible for the exam. |
Educational Qualification | Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with the specialization relevant to the post he/she is applying for |
TNPSC Group 4 Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | The minimum age limit is 18 years. While the upper age limit for a General candidate is 30 years, for candidates belonging to Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, and Backward classes (Muslims) is 32 years, and for the candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A) communities and Destitute Widows of all castes is 35 years |
Educational Qualification | Candidates should have passed the S.S.L.C. Public examinations or any such equivalent examination and should be eligible to enroll in Higher secondary or college studies |
TNPSC Combined Engineering Services Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | Candidates should be between 18 to 30 years of age to be eligible. |
Educational Qualification | Candidate must have a B.E. degree or equivalent degree in the specialization relevant to the post from a university recognized by the UGC, the Central Government, or any state government |
TNPSC ASE Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | The maximum age limit of the TNPSC ASE exam is 30 years for the General Candidates, and the upper age limit for candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A) is 35 years, whereas for Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims) and other Denotified Communities is 32 years. |
Educational Qualification | Candidate needs to have a B.E. or B. Tech degree in the relevant specialization. In the case of some posts, a diploma degree in the relevant specialization also serves the purpose. |
TNPSC DEO Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit | The upper bound of the Tamil Nadu PSC age limit for candidates applying for teaching posts is 40 years, while that of those appearing for open market posts is 30 years. As per the Tamil Nadu PSC DEO Eligibility Criteria of the previous year, there is no upper age limit for candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and other Denotified Communities. For ex-servicemen, the maximum age limit is 48 years, and for differently-abled candidates, there is an age relaxation of up to 10 years as per the last recruitment pattern. |
Educational Qualification | Candidate should have a Master’s degree, a B.T., or a B.Ed. Degree and must have studied Tamil under part 1 or 2 of the Pre-university course or the Higher Secondary Course |
