The official notification for the exam carries the eligibility criteria in detail.
Before applying for the post candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria.
As per the official notification, the eligibility for the year 2021 is based on the following parameters:
- Nationality
- Age Limit
- Educational Qualification
- Number of Attempts
As per the official notification, a candidate must be.
- A Citizen of India
- A Subject of Nepal
- A Subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
Candidates applying for this exam should be between 21 years to 40 years of age as of July 1, 2024.
Candidates born before 2nd July 1982 and after July 1, 2001, are not eligible to apply for the exam.

Candidates applying for this exam should be graduates.
Candidates who are in the final year of their graduation can also apply for this exam however they should be able to submit their final mark sheet during the UPPCS PSC Mains Exam Detailed Form Submission.
There are no criteria about the minimum percentage required to be eligible for this exam.

There is no bar on the number of attempts till the time candidates satisfy the eligibility mentioned above.

The age limit for the UPPSC exam is 21 to 40 years.
