IAS Prelims Exam Pattern
The exam pattern as per the official notification by UPSC is as follows:- The exam is conducted in offline mode.
- Questions are objective type.
- There is a total of 100 questions.
- The exam is bilingual - Questions are framed in English and Hind.
- The Test will carry a maximum of 200 marks.
- Each question carries 2 marks.
- There is negative marking and a 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The total time duration of the exam is 2 hours.

IAS CSAT Exam Pattern
This is a qualifying exam candidate must score at least 33% or 66 out of 200 to pass this paper. The exam pattern is as follows:- The exam is conducted in offline mode.
- Questions are objective type.
- There is a total of 80 questions.
- The exam is bilingual - Questions are framed in English and Hind.
- The Test will carry a maximum of 200 marks.
- Each question carries 2.5 marks.
- There is negative marking and a 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The total time duration of the exam is 2 hours.

IAS Prelims Important Instructions
As per the official notification, candidates must keep the following things in mind.- All candidates (male/female/transgender) should carefully read the Rules of Civil Services Examination.
- Candidates can apply Online by using the website https://upsconline.nic.in the admit card is also available online.
- The candidate should have a valid original Photo ID Card along with the admit card.
- The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive etc in banned.
