Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level examination conducted once every year to recruit candidates for the post of Primary (Classes 1-5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in schools of Uttar Pradesh.
The exam is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB).
UPTET examination is held in two shifts for two papers - I and II.Paper-I is conducted for candidates who plan on becoming teachers of Classes 1-5.
While Paper-II is for candidates who plan on becoming teachers of Classes 6-8.
Other than that candidates who wish to become teachers of Classes 1-8 need to appear for both the papers.The papers are conducted by the Board on the same day in offline mode.
