CTET 2021: Notification, Application Form, Syllabus, Pattern & Exam Date

Central Teachers Eligibility Test or CTET for the year 2021 will be conducted in the month of December. As per the latest CBSE guidelines, the registration process for the exam is expected to begin in the month of August. This is as per the guidelines in order to fulfill the aims and aspirations of the National Education Policy 2020, CTET will be conducted in online mode with few minor changes in the exam pattern. A detailed notification containing eligibility, exam pattern syllabus, and changes will be available soon on the official website of CBSE.

About CTET-

As per the provisions of the Right To Education Act 2009, there was to be the minimum qualification for teachers across the country. The National Council for Teachers Education via a notification dated 2009, initiated the process of Central Teachers Eligibility. Since 2010 the exam is conducted twice a year by Central Education Board for Secondary Education. The ultimate purpose of the CTET exam is:

To bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality.
To induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards.
Send a positive signal to all stakeholders and lay emphasis on teachers' training.

Through the CTET certificate, candidates become eligible to take up teaching roles in Classes 1 to 8. The exams ensure a set benchmark, fair analysis of competency and knowledge for prospective hiring institutions. The exam is conducted into two sessions – Paper 1 and Paper 2.The details are as follows:

Every year, over 20 lakh aspirants appear for the CTET exam. In January 2021, a total of 23,51,725 candidates appeared for the exam, of which, 6,54,299 candidates qualified.

CTET Exam Dates 2021

The dates discussed below are tentative. The CBSE is yet to release the official notification.

Final answer key	February 2022	The CTET final answer key 2021 will be released a few weeks after the release of the tentative answer key.

CTET Notification 2021

The CBSE is expected to release the official notification in August 2021. The notification will be available on the official web page of CTET. The expected dates for CTET 2021 part 2 are in December 2021 or January 2021. CTET Application Window 2021

The CTET application window will open along with the notification. Candidates should go through he eligibility details and keep all the documents ready. They should apply at the earliest. The application process id complete with paying of fee. As per the last 2021 examination the fee details were as follows.
The fee is Rs 1,000 for General and OBC categories and Rs 500 for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Differently Abled Person.

CTET Exam Process 2021

The CTET selection process includes the following steps:
CTET Application

Fill CTET application form
Fill the application form on the official website. Pay the fee online in time. The fee is Rs 1,000 for General and OBC categories and Rs 500 for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Differently Abled Person.

Download CTET admit card
Candidates can download CTET 2021 admit card from the official website of CBSE. The admit card is available in soft copy. Candidates are needed to take a printout of the admit card and carry it with them to the exam center.

CTET exam
The exam is conducted in two and a half hours duration.
There are two papers-

Paper 1	For Classes 1 to 5
Paper 2	For Classes 5 to 8

CTET Exam Pattern

There will be 150 MCQs in each paper.
For Paper-I, the difficulty level will be of the secondary stage.
Paper-II, the difficulty level will be of senior secondary stage.
CTET Paper-1 is divided into 5 sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics, and Environmental Science.
TET Paper-2 is divided into 4 sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics/Science or Social Studies. There will be a choice between Maths/Science and Social Studies.
Each Correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. There is no negative marking in the exam.
