New MD & CEO of Corporation Bank:

PV Bharathi has assumed charge as Managing Director and CEO of Corporation Bank on 1st February, 2019. Prior to this charge as Managing Director & CEO, Bharathi was the Executive Director in Canara Bank.
             She was responsible for many key areas as a General Manager, she was the Chief Risk Officer of the Canara Bank, including human resources, corporate credit, retail banking, credit monitoring, recovery, risk management, audit and inspection and others in the Canara Bank.

Opp'n Parties Demand to Tally 50% of EVM Votes with Paper:

Leaders of several opposition parties on Monday petitioned the Election Commission to ensure that 50% of EVM results to be matched with Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). 
         The Representatives of over 20 political parties also told the poll panel of Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora and election commissioner Ashok Lavasa that people doubted the efficacy of EVMs and this issue needs to be redressed. 

Juan Guaido Venezuela's Interim President:

European powers has appointed chief Juan Guaido as interim president urging him to hold free and fair elections. The coordinated move came after President Nicolas Maduro rejected their ultimatum to call presidential polls.
Guaido's leadership had already been recognized by Canada, the United States, Australia, and a number of Latin American countries. While the Russia and China who have invested billions of dollars into Venezuela have continued to back Maduro.

Govt To Gain Rs.28K Crore as Interim Dividend From RBI:

The audit committee of the RBI has cleared the payment of Rs. 28k Crore as Interim Dividend to the government in the current financial year. The government has already received Rs. 40k Crore from the Reserve Bank Of India. Hence, Rs68k Crore is the total surplus transfer to the government in the current fiscal.
 While, the Govt has revised Surplus of the RBI, Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions from Rs.54,817.25 Crore estimated earlier in the Budget 2018-19 to Rs.74,140.37 Crore.
