Indian Cancer Society (ICS) launched campaign for early detection of cancer in women

Indian Cancer Society launched campaign "Swasth Naari, Shakti Hamaari" for early detection of cancer in women. The Camps planned in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka. The Indian Cancer Society (ICS) campaign motive is to spread awareness of cancer among underprivileged women and enable early detection of the disease. 
                The campaign which was kicked off on the occasion of World Cancer Day has been organized in collaboration with pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

GSAT-31, Communication satellite of India successfully launched

India’s 40th telecommunication satellite, GSAT-31 was successfully launched on Feb 06, 2019 from French Guiana by Ariane-5 VA-247, Kourou launch base. GSAT- 31 communication satellite is configured on ISRO’s enhanced I-2K Bus, utilising the maximum bus capabilities of this type. GSAT-31 will augment the Ku-band transponder capacity in Geostationary Orbit.
            GSAT-31 weighted about 2536 kg, will provide continuity to operational services on some of the in-orbit satellites. The satellite derives its heritage from ISRO’s earlier series of INSAT/GSAT satellites. The satellite will cover the whole Indian territory.

Centrum, Ranjan Pai invest in Jana Small Fin Bank 

Manipal Education and Medical Group chairman Ranjan Pai and Centrum Group invested Rs 300 crore ($42 million at current exchange rate) in Bengaluru-headquartered Jana Small Finance Bank Ltd., giving the firm further ammunition to fight out rivals and scale up its business. 
          Jana, formerly Janalakshmi Financial Services started banking operations in March 2018. Ranjan Pai has invested Rs 145 crore and Centrum Group has put in Rs 155 crore in the Jana Small Fin Bank.

PM Shri Narendra Modi to be 'star speaker' at Global Business Summit 2019

For the fourth time, Shri Narendra Modi will deliver the keynote address at the Global Business Summit (GBS) in New Delhi on February 22 and 23 at New Delhi’s Taj Palace Hotel. His words keenly affected global business leaders who can see fastgrowing India as a bright spot in gathering world economic gloom.
          Modi’s speech at the summit will be one of the most consequential events. Since the general election is near, due to which this speech is likely to be one of his final big interventions. 
          Last year at Global Business Summit 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke of how the country’s economic transformation will not be complete if policies do not have “speed, scale, and sensitivity” to ensure the benefits of growth are spread widely.
