President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind presented the Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony to Shri Rajkumar Singhajit Singh, Chhayanaut (a cultural organization of Bangladesh) and Shri Ram Sutar Vanji for the years 2014, 2015 & 2016 respectively at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi. It is awarded annually and carries an amount of Rs. One Crore (convertible to foreign currency), a citation in a Scroll, a Plaque as well as an exquisite traditional handicraft/handloom item.
             Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony was instituted by the Government of India from 2012 recognizing the contributions made by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore to humanity at large with his works and ideas, as part of the Commemoration of his 150th Birth Anniversary in 2012, for promoting values of Cultural Harmony. 

Pulwama Attack: Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police Joint Press Conference 

The mastermind of the horrific terror attack in Pulwama has been eliminated by the security forces in an encounter. While addressing the joint press conference held by Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police, the Lt Gen KJS Dhillon of the Indian Army, said that security forces had eliminated the top JeM leadership within 100 hours of the 14 February Pulwama attack, that had planned and executed the deadly carnage.
             After the Pulwama terror attack in which more than 40 soldiers were killed by a suicide bomber, four Jjaish-e-Mohammad militants were encountered in an operation in Pulwama including the leader yesterday, in which four soldiers and a Kashmir Police constable were also martyred.

India & Argentina Signed MoU for Co-Operation in Nuclear Energy

India and Argentina has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation in the sector of nuclear energy. The MoU signed was signed between the Department of Atomic Energy, India and National Atomic Energy Commission, Argentina.
         The two countries also wished that MoU will aid to enhancing and exploring cooperative ventures in the area of nuclear power and its societal uses in the fields of health, agriculture, industrial application, training and capacity building, according to a statement.

Sunil Chhetri honoured with first ever Football Ratna
The all-time leading top scorer for India in international football Sunil Chhetri has been conferred with the first ever Football Ratna honour by Football Delhi, the association governing the sport in Delhi. Football Delhi president Shaji Prabhakaran presented the award to Sunil Chhetri. Delhi Dynamos player Shubham Sarangi, youth player from Delhi was also honoured.
             "I am honoured by the kind gesture of Football Delhi and recognising me with the Football Ratna award. My support will always be there for the development of football in Delhi and I am sure the current management is working hard to develop football in Delhi and make Delhi a model football state in India," Chhetri said.
