India, US To Participate In Bilateral Field Training Exercise In West Bengal

The first bilateral air exercise SHINYUU-18 between Indian Air Force (IAF) and Japanese Air Self Denfence Force (JASDF) has been commenced at Air Force Station in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The theme for SHINYUU-18 is joint Mobility/Humanitarian Assistance &Disaster Relief (HADR) on Transport aircraft.

Highlights

  • The primary objective of this exercise is to enable the Indian Air Force and the Japanese Air Self Defence Force for joint mobility/HADR operations.  
  • During this bilateral exercise, the IAF and JASDF will also practice the heavy loading/offloading.  
  • In this bilateral exercise, IAF is participating with C-17 and An-32 aircraft with aircrew and observers while JASDF will participate with C2 aircraft along with aircrew and observers.
