Top 10 Tallest Waterfall in India
1. Kunchika Falls: is the tallest waterfall in India and the second tallest in Asia. It is located near Agumbe in the Shimoga district. Agumbe valley is among the place in India that receive very heavy rainfall and it has the only permanent rainforest research station in India.
2. Barehipani Falls: is a picturesque waterfall situated in the core area of the simplicial national park in Mayurbhanj district of Orissa. The gorgeous waterfall is surrounded by a deep forest which again adds the wildness to its beauty.
3. Nohkalikai Falls: is famous for Hills, rainfall, living bridges, and oranges. This is the best place to visit in Shillong that is truly apt for the much misuse title “dangerously beautiful”.
4. Nohsngithiang Falls: or seven sister fall is the symbol of the seven states of Nort East India. This mesmerizing waterfall cannot be entered into but creates a spectacular view of the surrounding beauty of Mawsmai.
5. Dudhsagar Fall: is also known as the Sea of milk renowned for its Spectacular trajectory. It is obviously one of the most popular falls in the country and a great tourist attraction of Goa apart from exotic beaches.
6. Kynrem Falls: is another popular attraction of Cherrapunjee in East khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. The fall spread out in two different streams or rivulets with each of them gaining momentum by getting merged while flowing down the latest leg of the third tier.
7. Meenmutty Falls: is the peak famous for wilderness and the most spectacular falls in Wayanad. Streams of water gain their fierce strength during the months of monsoon.
8. Thalaiyar Falls: The wildest falls are very popular for their dangerous place and dark caves. The spot is still unexplored because there is no road to reach here.
9. Barkana Falls: is one of the prime sources of hydroelectricity in Karnataka as the water is used to power a hydroelectric system. It is surrounded by a thick forest of Western Ghats and is known as Cherrapunjee of south India.
10. Jog Falls: the major attraction of tourists and ranked 36th on the list of free-falling waterfalls, its breath-taking spectacle when sharavathi river falls from a height of 829 ft. It is the most impressive and highest plunge waterfall in India.
