US Beats China With The New Worlds Most Powerful Supercomputer

In the growing world of technology, US has unveiled it's latest and the most powerful supercomputer 'Summit', which even beats China's Sunway TaihuLight.

This computer is so fast that it can make almost 200, 000 trillion calculations per second making it twice as fast a the Sunway TaihuLight that makes 93,000 trillion calculations per second. In comparison with the previous supercomputer Titan that the US has, the new Summit is almost seven times faster than it.

'Summit' is so fast, that a desktop computer would take almost 30 years to do the same work, which it can do in an hours time. This new supercomputer is based on 4,608 servers, 9,000 22-core IBM Power9 processors, which takes up a space of as much as two tennis courts. To cool it down, the device uses almost 4, 000 gallon of water per minute.  

The machine is backed with AI facilities, which can be used for research in physics and health care. It can be used to create robots, discover the galaxy and fight diseases. The Summit costs $200 million.
