CAPF stands for Central Armed Police Force. Under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs CAPF is the unified name of the 7 security forces in India. The name of the seven Security Forces are given below:

The responsibility of CAPF is to enable the Government of India to efficiently and effectively maintain public order, maintaining legal rules and regulations, and internal security.
The recruitments are conducted mainly in three modes
-
Gazetted Officers: Central Armed Police Forces recruits the CAPF (Assistant Commandants) through the CAPF (AC) examination conducted by UPSC.

Subordinate Officers: The Staff Selection Commission recruits the Sub- Inspectors through competitive Examination and are referred to as DASOs (Directly Appointed Subordinate Officers).

Constables: The Staff Selection Commission recruits Constables through competitive examination conducted by SSC.

CAPF AC Exam Eligibility Criteria
The CAPF (AC) notification by UPSC mentions a set of eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidate.

Any candidate who does not meet the set eligibility criteria their candidature stands to be void.After the candidate has qualified the interview round the Eligibility conditions mentioned are verified concerning original documents Candidates have to satisfy the following to qualify the CAPF eligibility criteria:
Nationality:

The candidate must be a citizen of India.

The candidates who are subject of Nepal and Bhutan are also allowed to apply in the exam.

No other candidate can apply for the UPSC CAPF exam.
The lower age limit for the CAPF exam is 20 years and the upper age limit is less than 25 years. The age shall be calculated from August 1 of the exam year. For appearing in the UPSC CAPF exam 2020, the candidates’ date of birth should not be earlier than August 2, 1995, and not later than August 1, 2000.
The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable.

Educational Qualification required for CAPF 2020
As given in the official CAPF notification, "the candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree from any recognised university"
The candidates who are appearing in the final year of their degree course can also apply for the exam but they have to produce the final year mark sheet of the qualifying exam with the detailed application form.
Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates:
The candidates having the NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be given preference at the time of Interview. These qualifications will be considered at the time of Interview/Personality Test only.

CAPF Syllabus Paper II
The CAPF Syllabus for paper-II covers General Studies, Essay and Comprehension which has a weightage of 200 marks in total.
CAPF (AC) Syllabus for Paper II is divided into two parts:
Part‐A – Totals marks 80- comprises essay questions. Candidates have to answer the questions in narrative form, they can answer it either in Hindi or in English.
Some of the topics asked in UPSC AC Exam essays on analytical ability, knowledge of security and human rights issues, basics of geography, polity, modern Indian history, freedom struggle, economy, etc.
Part‐B – Total marks 120- covering questions related to comprehension, precis writing and other communication or language skills.
Part II must be attempted only in English. The topics covered in CAPF AC syllabus in this part are General grammar, Comprehension passages, precis writing, developing counter-arguments and other aspects of language testing.
