IBPS PO 2018-19

IBPS, also well known as Institute of Banking Personnel Selection which is a responsible body which conducts exam for the selection of candidates in the banking sector. IBPS has already started conducting its most waited exam IBPS PO Prelims 2018. Shortlisted candidates will be able to face the second round of this examination which is IBPS PO Mains 2018 exam. IBPS PO Mains 2018 exam is long 3 hours objective paper comprises of 4 sections- Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Awareness and Economy and English Language, for a total of 200 marks. Useful information about the exam pattern and the exam syllabus - 
•    Exam of IBPS PO Prelim is qualifying in nature. Marks obtained by the candidates in mains examination will only be counted and after being shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview round. Final merit list of IBPS PO exam will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in IBPS PO Mains examination and in Interview.
•    IBPS PO exam has negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer in both prelims & mains examination.
•    IBPS PO exam has sectional as well as over-all cut off in prelims & mains both.

BPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2018
Like SBI PO 2018 Exam, IBPS has introduced Descriptive Paper in its Mains Examination. The candidates will be judged on their writing skills. A letter and an essay will be given to candidates to write. It will constitute 25 marks. The candidate will need to accomplish this with a span of 30 minutes. No separate exam will be taken for computer applications. Reasoning has been teamed up with Computer Aptitude section. This section will contain 45 questions for a total of 60 marks. The candidates will be given 180 minutes to accomplish the exam.

IBPS PO Descriptive Test Syllabus
The descriptive section will contain 2 questions - It is expected that 1 essay and 1 letter will be asked in this section. Aspirants should practice writing essays on current topics preferably on a computer. Candidates should practice both formal and informal type of letters while practicing letter writing.

IBPS PO 2018 Interview Process
Those who qualify Mains Exam will finally be called for the Interview by IBPS. The interview will constitute maximum 100 marks. The candidates are required to obtain minimum 40% which is reduced to 35% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories to qualify the interview.
