IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection began the IBPS PO prelims exam process for the recruitment of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in affiliated banks. The IBPS PO and MT prelims recruitment exams will be held till October 21, 2018. The preliminary examination is conducted in 4 slots on each day. Candidates are required to answer 100 questions in 60 minutes. IBPS PO and MT main examinations, the second stage of the recruitment, will be held on November 18, 2018. This will be followed by an interview process where candidates who perform well in the main examinations will be selected for that.

Important Information regarding IBPS PO Prelims Exam 2018
IBPS PO prelims exam consists of objective tests for 100 marks. This test is of one-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
1.    Each question contains 1 marks.
2.    There is negative marking of 1/4th of the mark.
3.    Time of 20 minutes is fixed for each section.
4.    There are total of 100 questions asked in the examination. 

Exam Analysis
Quantitative Aptitude section can be rated as moderate and was time-consuming. No new question types/pattern of questions were asked in different slots of the exam. There were no questions on Data Sufficiency and Data Comparison, Simplifications, Approximations. Roughly, there were 15 to 18 questions (3 sets) on Data Interpretation (5-6 questions each on Line Graph, Table and Caselet). Questions were lengthy and calculation based. There were 5 questions on Wrong number series and 6 questions on Quadratic Comparisons. Questions on Quadratic comparisons were easy to moderate to solve whereas questions on Wrong number series were moderate in nature

For Reasoning Section, there were 20 questions which were basically from Puzzles (Linear with quant-based reasoning, Square, Quant based Reasoning + Ages,   Box puzzle), which were of the moderate level of difficulty and time-consuming. There were questions on Symbols and Notations and 3 to 4 questions on Blood Relations. These questions ranged from easy to moderate. About three questions were on Data Sufficiency in different slots which of were moderate difficulty level and were time-consuming.

English Section was moderate and good attempt was tagged at about 16 - 18 questions in 20 minutes. Reading Comprehension passage was conventional in its presentation, and comprised 7 to 8 questions, of which 2 were vocab questions. There were questions on the Error Identification (Word Usage) pattern. One sentence with four to five words in bold was given, and the aspirant was expected to pick the contextually inappropriate word from among them. There were 4 to 5 questions on Word Replacement and 2 to 3 questions on word usage.
