IBPS PO Mains Examination 2018 Syllabus

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Average, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Mensuration and Geometry, Data Interpretation, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Quadratic Equation, Problems of Ages, Profit and Loss, Number Series, Time and Work, Speed, Distance and Time, Number System, Data Sufficiency, Linear Equation, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Mixture and Allegations.
  • General Awareness: Financial Awareness, Current Affairs, General Knowledge
  • Reasoning: Verbal Reasoning, Syllogism, Circular Seating Arrangement, Linear Seating Arrangement, Double Lineup, Scheduling, Input-Output, Blood Relations, Directions and Distances, Ordering and Ranking, Ordering and Ranking, Data Sufficiency, Coding and Decoding, Code Inequalities.
  • Computer Aptitude: Computer Fundamentals /Terminologies, Internet, Memory, Keyboard Shortcuts, Computer Abbreviation, Computer Abbreviation, Microsoft Office, Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Operating System, Networking.
  • English Language: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Verbal Ability


Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will be penalty of 0.25 marks which will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate in IBPS PO 2018 Mains Exam. No marks will be deducted for the question left blank/unattempted by a candidate.

IBPS PO Descriptive Test Syllabus
The descriptive section will contain 2 questions - It is expected that 1 essay and 1 letter will be asked in this section. Aspirants should practice writing essays on current topics preferably on a computer. Candidates should practice both formal and informal type of letters while practicing letter writing.

IBPS PO 2018 Interview Process
All the candidates who qualify their Mains Exam will be finally called for the Interview Process by IBPS. Personal Interview conducted by IBPS will constitute of 100 marks and the minimum marks for qualifying this round will be 40% which is reduced to 35% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories.

Final Selection
After appearing for the interview round candidates will be finally selected for the post of Probationary Officer which will be made by taking into consideration the cumulative score of Mains Exam and the interview Process. IBPS has given weightage to both these phases of examination which must be in the ratio 80:20 respectively. Final Merit list will be generated after the Interview Process of IBPS PO 2018 Exam has been conducted. Candidates who are shortlisted in the final list of IBPS will be thus offered the joining letter by the Bank of their choice.
