IBPS RRB Exam

Introduction

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Common Written Exam (CWE) for recruitment in various Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across nation. The recruitment exam is commonly referred as IBPS RRB Exam and is held every year. It provides recruitment on Scale I Assistant and Scale I, II and III officer posts. The IBPS RRB Recruitment Exam is conducted every year to recruit young and energetic aspirants to banks in rural areas.

Notification

IBPS has not yet released the official notification for IBPS RRB Exam 2018 and according to the Exam Calendar of IBPS, it can be deduced that the recruitment notification will be released in July 2018. The commission will release the notification on its official website and the same will be made available on safalta education portal. All information regarding the recruitment process will be mentioned in the official notification.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay the required Application Fee to appear for the exam.
For Gen/OBC Category: Rs. 600/-
For SC/ST/OBC Category: Rs. 100/-

Vacancy Details

As of now, no official notification has been released by the commission and hence the number of vacancies offered in the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2018 are not revealed. Last year, around 15,000 vacancies were filled for both Officer cadre and Junior cadre. This year, more vacancies are expected to be filled.

Note: Negative marks is applicable in exam of all posts. 0.25 negative marks will be awarded for each wrong answer.

Exam Syllabus

IBPS RRB Exam Syllabus is different for all posts. Post-wise Exam Syllabus is mentioned below:
(I) IBPS RRB Assistant Exam Syllabus
(a) Logical Reasoning:
Odd man out, Syllogism, Seating Arrangement, Tabulation, Puzzle, Coded Inequalities, Coding Decoding, Blood Relations, Input Output, Alphanumeric Series, Ranking/Direction/Alphabet Test, Data Sufficiency.
(b) Quantitative Aptitude: Data Interpretation, Permutation Combination & Probability, Sequence & Series, Simplification, Number Systems, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage & Averages, Profit & Loss, Work & Time, Time & Distance, Mixtures & Allegations, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Surds & Indices, Sequence & Series.
(c) General Awareness: Current Affairs of Last 6 Months, Banking Awareness – Indian Financial System, History of Indian Banking Industry – Structure of Indian Banking, Regulatory Bodies like – RBI, SEBI, IRDA, PFRDA, FSDC, FMC, etc. (RBI History / Functions / Roles), Indian Economy Questions, Budget Basics and Current Union Budget, International Organisations/ Financial Institutions
Indian Consitution, Government Schemes – Bharat Nirman, Swavlamban, Swabhiman, etc., other important concepts like – BASEL, Micro Finance, Base Rate, Negotiable Instruments, Credit Rating Agencies, Financial Inclusions, Teaser Rates, GAAR, Priority Sector Lending and all other relevant concepts.

(II) In Officer Grade Exam, Computer & English/Hindi language sections are also asked.
(d) Computer Awareness: The Internet (Concept, History, working environment, Application), History of Computers, Hardware, Software, Database Management System (DBMS), Communication (Basic Introduction), Operating System, Security Tools, Virus, Hacker, Number System, MS Windows & MS Office, Networking (LAN, WAN).
(e) English Language: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Paragraph Complete/ Sentence Rearrangement, Para Jumbles, Miscellaneous, Fill in the blanks, Multiple Meaning / Error Spotting.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants must check the detailed eligibility criteria before applying for the recruitment process. Post-wise detailed eligibility criteria is mentioned below. 
Educational Qualification
Required Educational Qualification varies according to post.
Office Assistant: Candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Working knowledge of computer and proficiency in desired local language is also required.
Officer Scale I: Same as of Office Assistant.
Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer): Same as of Office Assistant with at least 2 years of work experience in any Banking/Financial Institution as officer.
Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer)
IT Officer:
Candidate must have a graduate degree in Electronics/Communication/Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized university. Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc is required with at least one year of working experience in relevant field.
Chartered Accountant (CA): Candidate must be a Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with at least one year of working experience.
Law Officer: Degree in Law from a recognized University or its equivalent with at least 50% marks with a 2 years (minimum) work experience as an Advocate or as a Law Officer in any Banking/Financial Institution.
Treasury Manager: Must have a CA or MBA (Finance) degree from a recognized university/institution with at least one year of work experience.
Marketing Officer: MBA (marketing) with one year work experience.
Agricultural Officer: Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and two years of work experience.
Officer Scale III: Same as Officer Scale II with at least 5 years of work experience. 

Age Limit: The required age limit varies according to posts:
Scale I Officer: 18 - 30 years
Scale II Officer: 21 - 32 years
Scale III Officer: 21 - 40 years
Office Assistant: 18 - 28 years

Age Relaxation is applicable as mentioned below:

How to Apply

To apply for the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2018, the candidate will have to visit the official website of IBPS. The link to apply will be made live once the official notification will be published. The link will also be made available on safalta education portal. The candidate should follow these steps to apply for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2018.

1. Click the Apply link to Register as a new user. Provide your name, D.O.B and Email ID.
2. Access your e-mail id to receive your Registration number and password for further process ahead.
3. Now enter your personal details including father's name, address, contact no. etc.
4. Enter your educational qualification.
5. Upload your Photograph and scanned copy of your signature.
6. Pay your fee online through any mentioned medium.
After completing your application process, keep your registration number safe and wait for the admit card to be released. Remember to take a printout of your completely filled form for future reference.

Admit Card

The Exam Admit Card will be released one or two weeks prior to the exam. The link to Download Admit Card will be made available on safalta education portal as well. All details regarding the exam will be mentioned on Admit Card including date of exam, time of exam , center of exam etc. The candidates should affix a passport size photograph on the admit card with crossed signature on it. 

Cut Off

To get recruitment to any regional rural bank through IBPS, one has to score above the cut-off score. It varies depending upon State applied for and category. The cut-off score will be published on the official website as well as safalta portal, as soon as it will be released.

Result

IBPS releases the exam result on its official website. The candidates are allowed to check their exam result using their registration number from the official link, till the result is available. The IBPS RRB Exam result will be published on the website after the commencement of exam and conclusion of the evaluation process.
