There is a breath of fresh air for all aspiring candidates to the 41,520 Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Post of 2018 as there has been a slight change in the selection procedure. As per the new rule, decided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the physical test marks will not have any bearing on the final results of the candidate. A written examination of 300 marks, which includes negative marking, will be conducted, on which the merit list of candidates would be prepared. This will be followed by a Physical Test which will be only of qualifying nature. Qualifying candidates would be subsequently called for their Document Verification followed by a Medical Test.
The Selection Procedure would consist of the following steps:
The candidates should keep in mind that the OMR based question paper is an objective multiple choice question paper with a total of 300 marks. Candidates should carefully note that the question paper will entail negative marking. The actual penalty will be informed later by the board. The examination will cover a number of topics and include subjects such as General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability, Mental Aptitude and Logical Ability. The minimum qualifying marks and merit cut-off in the written examination, will be decided by the UPPRPB at a later stage.
The physical test conducted henceforth, will require male candidates to run 4.8 kms in 25 minutes and 2.4 kms in 14 minutes for female candidates. Candidates should keep in mind that this is only of qualifying nature and no marks would be awarded to the candidate.
Shortlisted candidates would be then required to provide their documents for scrutiny and verification.
Henceforth, selected candidates whose records were found to be genuine would be summoned for a medical examination that would be conducted by the Council.
