Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Experience:
Flying Branch - Minimum of 50 percent marks in maths and physics at the 10+2 level, and graduation with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum three-year degree course in any subject. OR a four-year BE/B Tech degree from a recognized university with a minimum grade of 60% or equivalent. OR Candidates who have passed Section A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India examinations with a minimum of 60% or equivalent from a recognized university.

Branch of Ground Duty (Technical):

  • AE (L) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) - Candidates with a minimum of 50 percent marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and a minimum of four years of degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examinations of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Engineers (India Computer Engineering/Technology (aab). Computer Engineering and Application (aac). Computer Science and Engineering/Technology (aad) is a combination of computer science and engineering/technology. Electrical and computer engineering is abbreviated as aae.   • Education - Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any subject, including integrated programmes giving PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral admission) and 60% in Graduation in any field.
  • Logistics - Graduate degree (minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60 percent or equivalent marks, or cleared section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60 percent or equivalent marks.
Special Entry for the NCC (Flying Branch)
  • Certificate of NCC Air Wing Senior Division 'C' obtained on or after December 1, 2017. At the 10+2 level, a minimum of 60% in math and physics is required. Graduates with a minimum three-year degree course in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech degree (four-year course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have passed Section A and B of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

Candidates that submit an application will be contacted for the following:
  • Written test for the AFCAT
  • Psychological exam, Officers Intelligence Rating Test, and Picture Perception and Discussion Test
  • Group examinations and interviews are both available.

AFCAT is an acronym for the American Federation of Cata (For both Non-Technical & Technical Candidates)

There will be questions from the following people:
  • Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/Correct Word Filling, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Vocabulary, Idioms, and Phrases Testing
  • History, geography, civics, politics, current events, the environment, basic science, defense, art, culture, and sports are all examples of general awareness.
  • Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams) are all examples of numerical ability.
  • Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability in the Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

  1. Visit AFCAT's official webpage at afcat.cdac.in.
  2. On the Home page, click "CANDIDATE LOGIN" to get to AFCAT. Sign-in
  3. Applicants should click "NOT YET REGISTERED?" on the following page. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER."
  4. Become a member: Login ID will be created, and the applicant will get a password to his or her registered email address.
  5. Sign in with your registered email address and a password provided by the system when you've completed the registration process.
  6. Log-Out - Reset Password (candidates must remember their login ID and password for future use during the examination process).
  7. Login for the first time.
  8. "AFCAT"; "NCC SPECIAL ENTRY FOR FLYING BRANCH"; 
  9. Select "INSTRUCTIONS" from the drop-down menu. Pay close attention to the instructions.
  10. Check the box to advance to the next level after acknowledging that you have read and understand the instructions.
  11. SELECT "APPLICATION FORM FILLING" from the drop-down menu.
  12. Make an online payment by clicking "MAKE PAYMENT" (applicable only for AFCAT)
  13. To see if your payment was successful, click "PAYMENT STATUS." The presence of the Registration Number indicates that the payment was successful.
