The selection process for the exam consists of 3 stages i.e.

Written Test: Maximum marks are 50 and the length is around one hour. A written test that includes General Knowledge, General English, Basic Math, and a level-appropriate Subject Test. Candidates must get a minimum score of 33 percent to 50 percent.

Skill Proficiency test (QM): Candidates who pass the written test will be subjected to a skill/proficiency test that includes letter drafting, store management, including the generation of issue/receipt vouchers, and stock ledger maintenance, among other things. Knowledge of Fire Fighting Drills and the preparation of a Statement of Case for the purchase of supplies/carrying out of work.

Skill/Proficiency Test (Upper Division Clerk): Candidates who pass the written test will take the Skill/Proficiency Test, which includes a Typing Test (English) in MS Word (40 WPM), a Typing Test (Hindi & Regional Language) using Online Tools (35 WPM) (Marks 50), a Typing Test to check the knowledge of typing various symbols used in Mathematics/Science subjects in MS Word, a Typing Test to check the knowledge of typing various symbols used in Mathematics/Science subjects in MS Word, a Typing Test to check knowledge (Marks 50).
